The sisters at Monastère de l'Emmanuel à Bethléem have always been kind to me. I was in a particularly bad place and they took me in and gave me order and sanity again. They asked me to make the portrait of their patron saint, the young Jesus, and I dived into the work and forgot my insignificant "problems", and each step of the way, I was accompanied by their kindly company, their dedicated prayers and their steadfast devotion.
They thanked me for making the mosaic, it was blessed during Eucharist. I held it and the entire congregation came up and knelt to smooch it, I was SO overwhelmed! I am sure I was the one to give thanks, for the life of a community of faith which will forever be a gem in my heart.
The project was made possible by my son's God Mum, Cat, who financed the project. She is what I call a bosom pal. Thank you, Cat, you don't fully know what those 2 weeks mean to me. I hope I can one day do something for you too.
